Pola Pergerakan Wisatawan dan Pengaruhnya Terhadap Permintaan Transportasi di Kota Pariwisata (Studi Kasus: Kota Makassar, Sulawesi Selatan)

Modern tourists increasingly rely on app-based (online) transportation. This research is important as it highlights a shift in transportation preferences, serving as a reference for improving the quality of digital transportation services in tourist cities. The aim of this study is to analyze the movement patterns of tourists and their impact on transportation demand in Makassar, a major tourist city in Indonesia. Makassar attracts both domestic and international tourists with its cultural, historical, and marine tourism attractions. This research employs a survey method involving 200 tourist respondents visiting Makassar, supplemented by field observations and secondary data analysis. The findings show that the majority of tourists focus their visits on main attractions such as Losari Beach, Fort Rotterdam, and Trans Studio Makassar, with movement patterns dominated by the use of online transportation services. Moreover, there is a significant fluctuation in transportation demand during holiday seasons and weekends, with an increase in online transportation usage by up to 40% compared to regular days. Correlation analysis indicates a strong positive relationship between the intensity of tourist movements and the rising demand for transportation, particularly for online services and private vehicle rentals. This study concludes that a better understanding of tourist movement patterns can aid in designing more effective transportation policies in Makassar, including the development of more integrated and tourist-friendly transportation infrastructure.
