THE PERFORMANCE OF TEACHERS POST CERTIFICATION AT SMP NEGERI 10 PALU

Teacher is the most influential component on the creation of quality education processes and outcomes. Realizing the important role of teachers in education, the government has made every effort to improve the quality of education in Indonesia, including the teacher certification program. SMP Negeri 10 Palu is not a popular school and many students have stumbled over several cases, but this is not a problem, seeing that the National Examination scores in this school have shown an increase in the last few years. The research aims to explain teachers’ performance post certification at SMP Negeri 10 Palu and apply a qualitative approach. The research selected 9 informants including the principal, teachers and several students. There were also 35 respondents in the research. The research shows that: 1) the performance based on the of learning design, implementation and assessment is categorized very good, 2) the teachers had tried to improve performance, 3) the teachers tried to improve duties and discipline, 4) the teachers met basic competencies.
